National Fried Chicken Sandwich Day is Saturday Nov. 9, meaning multiple fast-food chains will celebrate with special deals and discounts to get customers flocking to their locations.
Popeyes, Chick-fil-A, Burger King, McDonald's, Wingstop and other popular chains will have juicy deals for participating customers. Chicken sandwiches have become a staple in the American diet, and people continue to eat billions of them each year.
There are roughly 3.5 billion chicken sandwiches eaten each year in the U.S., the National Association of Convenience Stores said in 2021, citing the NPD Group, a marketing research and tech company now known as Circana.
Here are some of the deals chicken sandwich lovers can expect over the weekend.

Burger King offering free Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich
Burger King will be offering a free Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich to its reward members with a purchase of $5 or more.
A solo Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich at Burger King would typically cost around $6, according to Mashed. The sandwich comes on a potato bun and is topped with tomato, lettuce, and mayo, the food-related outlet added.
Popeyes is giving away free classic, spicy or ghost pepper chicken sandwiches
Popeyes will be giving customers a free classic, spicy or ghost pepper chicken sandwich with a $10 minimum purchase through its app for mobile order pick-up or delivery. This deal will continue through Sunday.
Chicken sandwiches at Popeyes are usually sold for around $6, according to Uber Eats.
McDonald's discounting McCrispy sandwiches, Chicken McNuggets
Until Dec. 2, McDonald's is discounting its McCrispy sandwiches to $2 and 10-piece Chicken McNuggets to $1.
A McCrispy sandwich would usually cost around $5.30, while a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets would be roughly $5.60, according to Mcdonald's Menu with Prices, an unofficial guide to McDonald’s menus, prices and nutrition information.
Wingstop offering free chicken sandwiches on app
Wingstop app users are able to snag a free chicken sandwich by making a purchase and entering the code FREESAMMY. The deal began on Thursday and will continue until Sunday.
Wingstop's chicken sandwiches cost around $6.89, according to Grubhub.
Chick-fil-A locations running a BOGO deal on its chicken sandwiches
Certain Chick-fil-A locations will be running a BOGO deal on its chicken sandwiches. Both the chain's regular and spicy chicken sandwiches are included in these promotions.
Customers should check with their local restaurants to see if they have the deal, but there is not a standard deal in any specific markets or nationwide, a Chick-fil-A spokesperson told USA TODAY in an email on Friday.
One chicken sandwich at Chick-fil-A would typically cost around $5, the chain's app shows.
Jollibee offering a BOGO deal to loyalty program customers
Jollibee is also offering a BOGO deal on Saturday for its chicken sandwiches, but the chain's new loyalty program customers are only eligible. Those who sign up for the program on Saturday can use the deal for online orders.
Both regular and spicy sandwiches are eligible for this promotion. Chicken sandwiches at Jollibee cost about $7.30, according to DoorDash.
Carl's Jr. giving free Famous Star burger or chicken sandwich to customers who spend $1
Customers who spend $1 at Carl's Jr. on Saturday will be treated to a free Famous Star burger or chicken sandwich. This may be the only deal that's also offering a free burger on National Friend Chicken Sandwich Day.
A Famous Star burger costs about $8.74, while a chicken sandwich will run a customer roughly $5, according to Grubhub.
Jack in the Box offering free Cluck Sandwich with $1 purchase
Jack in the Box is giving customers a free Cluck Sandwich when they make a $1 minimum purchase.
A Cluck Sandwich usually costs around $6.29, according to Jack in the Box's website.
Shake Shack giving away free Chicken Shack with $10 purchase
Shake Shack will be giving away a free Chicken Shack with a minimum purchase of $10. To snag the deal, customers will have the order on the app and use the code CHICKENSUNDAY.
A Chicken Shack usually costs around $9.59, according to Grubhub.
Buffalo Wild Wings Pick 6 to include classic chicken sandwich
Buffalo Wild Wings’ Pick 6 for $19.99 includes two sides, two fountain drinks and two entrees, which the chain said can include its classic chicken sandwich.
"A Classic Chicken Sandwich perfect for celebrating National Fried Chicken Sandwich Day on Saturday, Nov. 9," a spokesperson for the chain said in a news release shared with USA TODAY.
Other National Fried Chicken Sandwich Day deals
- Lee's Famous Chicken Recipe: Loyalty program members will earn four times the points on all chicken sandwich purchases on Saturday.
- Wing Snob: On Saturday, customers can enjoy any of Wing Snob’s freshly-made Chicken Sandos, paired with crispy fries and a refreshing drink, for $9.99.
- Pilot: Chicken sandwiches or biscuits will be $3 on Saturday.
